The neighbourhood.

The idyllic Birchcliffe-Cliffside area is an established, family-oriented neighbourhood flanked by local parks, trails, ravines, and the idyllic beaches leading to Lake Ontario. Many of the early settlers of the area were cottagers, who were inspired to name the area "Birch Cliff" because of the birch trees that lined the crest of the Scarborough Bluffs. By the early 1900s, the area became a permanent year-round residence for many.

Birchcliffe is a tight-knit community with many day-to-day amenities found along Kingston Road. Specialty retail and services, including art galleries, dance and music studios, doggie daycare, children's play centre, community markets, and artisanal restaurants can be found west of the prestigious Toronto Hunt Club.

This neighbourhood is perfect for outdoor enthusiasts, with a number of parks within walking distance, in addition to the nearby Beaches area, which is just 20 minutes away by foot. Bibliophiles will want to apply for a card at the local Taylor Memorial Branch Toronto Public Library, which also offers children's programming.

Birchcliffe-Cliffside is serviced by 4 bus routes passing through, including Victoria Park Station which is a 13-minute walk and is a 1-minute walk from the nearest street-level transit.
